More McCain Socialism

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) – Sen. John McCain is calling for construction of 45 new nuclear reactors by 2030 and pledging $2 billion a year in federal funds to make clean coal a reality. He says the measures will reduce American dependence on foreign oil. In a second straight day of campaigning devoted to energy, the Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting also said Wednesday that the only time Democratic rival Barack Obama voted for a tax cut was for a “break for the oil companies.”

During an appearance in Springfield, Mo., McCain said the 104 nuclear reactors currently in operation produce about 20 percent of the nation’s annual electricity needs. He said they spare the atmosphere the equivalent of nearly all auto emissions in America.”

My first reaction when I saw the headline “McCain calls for building 45 new nuclear reactors” was:

Why, Senator, in your 28 years in the Senate, have you never introduced a bill to allow the building of new nuclear reactors? (if he has, correct me b/c i’m wrong) This is just more election-year pandering. Only morons, also known as the American “sheep”, I mean “public”, fall for this stuff.

Then I clicked on the article and I wasn’t surprised when I saw the Socialist wanted to pledge “2 billion a year in federal funds.” Worthless, Senator. Get the government out of the way, and if there is a need for more nuclear reactors, the private sector will handle it.

Finally, I wasn’t the least bit surprised to see McCain pandering to the Gore-types out there when he tried to make his pitch by stating that more nuclear reactors would “spare the atmosphere the equivalent of nearly all auto emissions in America.”

How can anyone who claims to be a conservative vote for such a leftist.
